Helping you improve oral function, breathing patterns, and healthy habits — one step at a time.
At Peak Myo and Dental Hygiene, I provide personalized orofacial myofunctional therapy to help children and adults develop healthier oral muscle patterns and improve the way the tongue, lips, cheeks, and facial muscles work together.
Myofunctional therapy uses individualized exercises, education, and guidance to address oral muscle function and support healthier everyday habits.
Orofacial myofunctional therapy focuses on the muscles and functions of the mouth and face, including tongue posture, lip seal, swallowing patterns, and nasal breathing when appropriate.
These patterns can influence oral function and may be associated with concerns such as mouth breathing, tongue thrust, and certain oral habits.
Myofunctional therapy may be helpful for children, teens, and adults experiencing:
Open-mouth resting posture or difficulty maintaining lip seal
Tongue-thrust swallowing patterns
Persistent oral habits
Low or forward resting tongue posture
Oral muscle coordination concerns
Support needs before or after a frenectomy
Certain concerns associated with snoring, breathing, or oral function
An individual evaluation helps determine whether myofunctional therapy may be appropriate and whether collaboration with other healthcare providers is recommended.
An individualized assessment of oral muscle function, tongue posture, swallowing patterns, breathing habits, and related concerns.
Exercises and guidance tailored to your needs, goals, and ability to practice at home.
Evaluation of oral function and coordination of care when tongue or lip restriction is a concern.
Appropriate therapy support before or after a frenectomy, coordinated with the treating provider's recommendations.
Guidance to help address habits and develop healthier oral resting posture and muscle patterns.
Myofunctional therapy may complement care from dentists, orthodontists, ENTs, physicians, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals.
When appropriate, I collaborate with other providers to support coordinated care. Myofunctional therapy does not replace medical evaluation or treatment for sleep-disordered breathing or other medical conditions.
Every patient is unique. My goal is to provide individualized education, support, and care in a welcoming environment.
